How this index works
BestAIAgents.app ranks AI agents using published pricing, documented capabilities, benchmark results where available, and hands-on product evidence. Every listing carries a last-verified date, listings are re-checked monthly, and rankings are never sold. The index currently covers 22 agents in 5 categories.
Verification cadence
Each listing is re-verified on a monthly cycle: pricing pages are re-checked, discontinued products are removed, and material changes (new pricing models, major capability launches) update the entry. The stamp on every page — currently June 10, 2026 — reflects the most recent verification pass. If an entry fails verification, it is marked stale rather than silently retained.
Ranking criteria
Rankings within each category weigh: (1) capability — what the agent autonomously completes, supported by public benchmarks like SWE-bench where they exist; (2) accessibility — pricing transparency, free tiers, and contract flexibility; (3) production readiness — reliability, integrations, and security posture; and (4) momentum — pace of meaningful improvement. A #1 badge means our best overall pick for most users in that category, with named exceptions in each guide.
Independence
Placement in rankings cannot be bought. If sponsored placements are ever introduced, they will be visually labeled, separate from editorial rankings, and excluded from "best" verdicts. Some outbound links may become affiliate links; this never affects position, and verdict text is written before monetization is considered.
Corrections
